I guess they wore out their tennis shoes dragging their feet, Hmmmmm?
I mean, the case wasn't serious enough to bribe somebody to get it thrown out, or the price of the D.A.'s office has gone down with the economy . . Heh, heh . . .

"A man with a firearm is a citizen... a man without one is a subject"
And again today . .

This one wasn't a misdemeanor, but a murder case . .

Current DA is JV = Junior Varsity. Time for a change.
Unless you read and consider different points of view, your mind will eventually close and you will become a prisoner to a certain point of view you will never question.
Heh, heh . . Y'know this would be almost laughable were it not so pathetic . .
We used to call Sandstrom's Office, "Monty Hall's Let's Make A Deal" . . now we have "The Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight" (for lack of a better name, I guess) and say, "Gee, I wish they were as good as the last one"
I guess it's only perception . . . but you're right . .
Time for a change . . .
"A man with a firearm is a citizen... a man without one is a subject"
The latest in Thiebaut's long string of failures.

Two things . . It's another case of "Elected Incompetance" . . . (as per the discussion on another thread about combining Police Forces)
Second . . it makes one wonder about how a State Patrolman manages to see those "little Things' that lead to those stops involving potential drug "Mules" . . there wouldn't be just a little "Profiling" going on here, 'spose?
I've always wondered how the Hell a State Patrolman or a Deputy Sheriff (who just happens to have a drug sniffing dog in the car) can spot "bad windshield wipers" or other really hard to see infractions, in the dark, from across the median, make the stop and then find a couple pounds of dope in the car/truck . .
I've always maintained that you'd need Chevy Novas, lined up bumper to bumper, from Boulder to El Paso, to supply just the front range with it's daily needs . . Maybe ole Bill has decided to save a buck and quit prosecuting bait for Law Enforcement Grants from DEA . .

In baseball if you go 1 for 72 you earn a quick trip to the minor leagues and if that one is a home run you should be out of baseball. Sorry for the weak analogy, but Bill Thiebaut is a bust. He has designs on running for the 3rd congressional seat, I hope the Tony Ianne fiasco killed that. Word is Nick Gradisar is going to challenge Thiebaut in the primary for DA if Thiebaut decides to run for re-election. Go Nick! Also what is the deal with the automatic $10,000 pay raise Thiebaut gets this year and next?
You'd expect the "Honorable Bill Thiebaut" to take a cut? Also what is the deal with the automatic $10,000 pay raise Thiebaut gets this year and next?

In today's paper, Democrat County Commissioner Jeff Chostner announced that he'll run against Billy T for DA this coming election . .
This should be fun to watch . .
On the other hand, where's the Pueblo County Republican party and a strong candidate? One would think that this would be a prime time to get into the mix . .
