Ole Carrol was a heart and kidney tranmsplant survivor (until the other day) and I was always amazed at the fact that he never needed a new liver . . One thing is for certain, the man used those organs up . . He never stood still!

And he was a "Man's Man" . . The article mentioned his "Testosterone Injection" to the automobile industry . . Basically, besides Arkas Duntov, no one else could ever be considered the Influence that Carrol Shelby had on the performance side of the automobile industry . .

I met him once in 1966, at his shop in California, where the Cobras were built from little aluminum and canvas "Ace" sports cars, and he had just started the assembly of the first run of "Shelby Cobra Mustangs" . . He was one of the most "down to earth" guys you'll ever meet . . He could talk to anybody, from royalty to the peasant, and did it with personality and respect . . He'll be missed by many. Especially gearheads . . .
